The AI Shortlist is an independent review publication that tests and ranks AI software for creators, marketers, and small businesses. The AI tool market ships faster than anyone can evaluate it — hundreds of lookalike products, breathless launch threads, and affiliate roundups written by people who never opened the tool. We exist to be the opposite of that.
What we do
Every review answers one buyer question — "what's the best AI voice generator?", "what's the best AI video editor?" — and ends with one clear pick. We publish the verdict three ways: a full video review on YouTube, a written breakdown here, and a buyer's guide that teaches you to run your own 20-minute test before paying for anything.
Why we're different
- Claims get verified, not repeated. Our editorial pipeline checks every claim against its source context; claims that fail verification are dropped before the verdict is written.
- The free alternative is part of the verdict. When a free tool is genuinely enough, we say so in the verdict itself — that call costs us commission, which is exactly why it's the fastest way to earn your trust.
- Verdicts are never for sale. Affiliate partnerships and sponsors never touch rankings — the policy is public in our editorial standards.
